The annual convention of the Alumni Association, hereinafter referred to as the “Mid-Winter Conference”, kicked off from March 2^nd through March 5^th of 2023 in Charlotte, NC. Over 600 alumni (Alcornites), guests, students, and university leadership attended the event which created a quality experience. Special Guest included Mrs. Cynthia Butler-McIntyre, 24th National President of Delta Sigma Theta was the Key-Note Speaker for the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Legacy Luncheon and Mississippi Representative Bennie Thompson who served as the Dr. Walter Washington Signature Gala. The National Presidents of the Mississippi Valley State University Alumni Association, Mr. Jerry Redmond, and the Jackson State University Alumni Association, Miss Patrice Edwards were present to support as fellow Mississippi HBCU representative. Attendees also participated in workshops, the Board of Directors and Executive Committee meeting. The primary purpose of the meeting is to elect officers, receive reports, and transacting such other business as shall properly come before the Alumni Association. The Carolinas Alumni Chapter served as the conference host.
